This 7-week course is powered by 16 intrepid learners (1 of them an adult!) seeking to examine the question “What does it mean to prove something?” We are rolling up our sleeves, getting our hands dirty, and digging into this question through a series of student-conceived questions and experiments. This blog will document both the student and teacher learning process as we partner to learn and teach in an expanded, experiential class structure.
Are you a budding scientist, engineer, or TV producer? If so, then this course is for you! Based on the popular Discovery Channel show, Myth Busters, this course puts students in the driver’s seat to prove or debunk urban legends, popular myths, movie special effects, or questions of their own design. From determining the “myths” to bust to designing and refining experiments to presenting results, students will work collaboratively in small teams. Students will be active leaders in this course, designing their experience and the way in which they present their findings. It’s hands on AND brains on!
